Players may be unsure at first why Zagreus would want to return to a room that flashbacks show him desperate to escape. However, this chamber contains some useful data about the player’s runs, and also comes into play during several of Hades’ side quests. Here’s how to access it.
How To Unlock Administrative Privilege
At a certain point during the story’s run, a flashback will trigger regarding Zag’s time in the administrative chamber, showing his father berating him. This flashback doesn’t trigger on any specific run, but most players report it occurring between their 20th and 30th escape attempts. After witnessing the flashback, players can visit the House Contractor and view the list of work orders to find “Administrative Privilege” listed there.
Once the work order becomes available, it will cost Zag three diamonds to regain access to the administrative chamber. Diamonds can be earned in the following ways:
Defeating the Bone Hydra in Asphodel — Zagreus can earn one diamond per weapon on each successive Heat. Purchasable from the Wretched Broker for 10 Nectar each
What’s In The Administrative Chamber?
Upon entering the administrative chamber, Zagreus can access two sets of incredibly useful stats: the Security Log and his Permanent Record.
Security Log
Found at the left-hand side of the cabinets at the room’s northeast wall, this file contains a record of all of Zag’s escape attempts. By flipping back and forth through the file, players can see a detailed record of each of their runs. This includes:
The weapon and aspect they used All Boons and Daedalus Hammer upgrades picked up Chosen keepsake and companion Where and how they perished (if applicable) Total elapsed time

This data allows the player to examine their most successful — and least successful — runs, and can help them determine what went right or wrong. Does choosing a particular weapon always result in getting killed by the Minotaur? Does the same Boon appear on every run that results in a successful escape? Everyone’s play style is unique in Hades, and this data can help players figure out what choices have been working most effectively for them.
Permanent Record
Where the Security Log contains a detailed breakdown of each run, the Prince’s Permanent Record presents a summary of stats regarding all of his escape attempts. With tabs for Arms, Boons, Upgrades, Aspects, and Keepsakes, players can review the following information for each:
How many total times each weapon / boon / keepsake / etc. was selected How many successful clears used that item / benefit Best time Best heat

The utility of these stats is fairly straightforward: it lets players know which choices have led to their greatest overall success. Looking to clear the highest possible Heat or beat the game in Hell Mode? These tables will help players make the best choices for such a run.
Role In The Story
As the game’s narrative progresses, the chamber also plays a role in certain side quests courtesy of the Fated List Of Minor Prophecies. In order to free Sisyphus from his punishment, reunite Achilles and Patroclus, and complete a few other goals, Zagreus must find certain contracts in his father’s files.
While he may not have much interest in the family business, this use of his administrative privilege allows the Prince of Hades to use his status to help those he cares about. Dig up those contracts, and make the Underworld a bit of a friendlier place.
