Hadesgave players a lot of choice and a fascinating story. However, although the game is well-liked by players, it still had things that held it back. With the sequel being announced at the latest game awards called, Hades 2, players can look forward to a game that builds on the unique elements of the first.
5 More Boon Choices
Boons are abilities players get from the Olympian gods while on a run in Hades, and can grant the player a wide variety of benefits. From offense to defense, they give Zagreus tons of options to fight against enemies. Along with the aspects equipped on weapons, boons helped players try different things for each run. However, the boons were rather limited in scope. In some cases, players can run into the same boons twice in one run.

For Hades 2 it would be a great addition to cycle boons out. It could also increase the number of available boons, so players won’t run into the same one more than once. This way, they’ll have more chances to become more creative in how they deal with enemies.
4 More Ways To Spend Rewards
As players progress through the world of Hades, they gain Darkness, which can be used on the Mirror of Night located in Zagreus’ room. The mirror can be used to buy and upgrade permanent abilities using the Darkness. These abilities can give the player an extra life, more health, more damage, allow them to dash more often, and more.

The problem is after everything has been bought and upgraded, there’s nothing for the player to spend the Darkness on. They will just collect it. Many want to see Hades 2improve on the Mirror of Night by adding abilities that can be bought only after players have bought everything on the first tier. This way, they can always get stronger, and still spend Darkness as they see fit.
3 Post-Release Content
This is something that can be done in many ways, but no matter what the developers do, it’ll keep the players coming back. Post-release content can come in many forms. New levels, weapons, and abilities could all make players engage with Hades 2. Initially, after players beat Hades, they could re-do it all. However, to make things even better, new levels can be added. On top of that, these new levels can be harder.
If Hades 2 does this, players will be engaged for a long time. Post-game additions can include not just levels, but ways to expand the story, since Hades 2 seems to have a bigger narrative scope than the first game. Post-release content can help with this, and make Hades 2 even more repayable.
2 Greater Variety In Boss Battles
Hades had some great boss and mini-boss battles, each of which forces the player to use new ways of taking them down. However, much like the boons, they are pretty limited. For Hades 2, the best thing to really make the player sweat is to have more boss battles, but at certain points. In the first game, if the player died, they would come back and do the whole run again. The bosses they faced would be the same, but they might face different mini-bosses.

Oftentimes, players would run into the exact same boss over and over again. In the sequel, bosses should be plentiful, but also unique. This way, each time the player runs into a boss, those characters will stand out more. On top of that, each boss should do something different. Some could be straightforward with their attacks, and others can be more complicated. This would make things far more immersive.
1 Variety Of Locations
There are a total of three different locations players will progress through in Hades. Each of these areas has a different aesthetic and different enemy types. However, Hades has an interesting progression system. By activating “God Mode,” players can becomemore powerful every time they die. This is separate from buying abilities from the Mirror of Night. If players die enough, they would be able to reach the later parts of Hades easier. Even without God Mode, players can upgrade their weapons and abilities to become nearly unstoppable.
While Hades has replayability, which is one of the best features of the game, these locations can become stagnant once players are able to get really good at the battle system. Hades 2 can build on this by having a wider variety of locations, with varying lengths and difficulties. This gives the feel of the player finding something new or seeing something new every run.
Hades 2 will be available next year on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
