Not content to merely re-package last year’s effort, Warriors of Rock is bringing a lot of new material to the Guitar Hero table. Central to the game is the all new Quest Mode. From the press release:
Add to that a jump-in/jump-out Party Mode, a Quick Play mode that features 13 distinct challenges for every song in the game, and a ton of Competitive modes, and you start to get a sense of just how big a game Warriors of Rock is. You’re going to be playing this one for a good long time.
So far, everything sounds good. But let’s say that you want to make a band comprised exclusively of drummers (an enterprise that, as a drummer myself, I fully support). No problem! In Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, players are free to use absolutely any combination of instruments they’d like.
On the subject of instruments, Warriors of Rock is set to debut a brand new, “completely redesigned rock-inspired guitar controller.” Good news if your plastic guitar (like mine) has seen better days.
Of course, any music game is only as good as the songs it contains. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock features more on-disc music than any game before it - more than 90 tracks in all. Not all of the songs have been announced yet, but take a look at the tunes that have been revealed so far:
AFI - “Dancing Through Sunday” Avenged Sevenfold - “Bat Country” Black Sabbath - “Children Of The Grave” Buzzcocks - “What Do I Get?” Children Of Bodom - “If You Want Peace. . . Prepare For War” The Cure - “Fascination Street” Def Leppard - “Pour Some Sugar On Me (Live)” Dethklok - “Bloodlines” DragonForce - “Fury of the Storm” Drowning Pool - “Bodies” Foo Fighters - “No Way Back” Foreigner - “Feels Like The First Time” Jane’s Addiction - “Been Caught Stealing” KISS - “Love Gun” Megadeth - “Sudden Death” Metallica & Ozzy Osbourne - “Paranoid (Live)” Muse - “Uprising” My Chemical Romance - “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” Queen - “Bohemian Rhapsody” Rammstein - “Waidmanns Heil” The Rolling Stones - “Stray Cat Blues” Silversun Pickups - “There’s No Secrets This Year” Slayer - “Chemical Warfare” ZZ Top - “Sharp Dressed Man (Live)”
Now that you’ve got a handle on all the game has to offer, it’s time to take a look the the Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock trailer.
