An Activision employee by the name of Nigel Li has an online resume, and within his project listings, you can spot (or could have - it has since been taken down) that he listed both Guitar Hero 7 and Band Hero 3. Now, call me a stickler, but I’m really certain a company should finish developing one game before moving on to the sequel. I mean, you don’t see LittleBigPlanet 5 or Rock Band 4 in the news.

I think the deeper meaning here is that if a company is able to begin work on two titles ahead in the development of a series, they’re simply not adding enough into the gaming experience. It’s like they’re officially saying, “hey guys, we’re not changing much to the game here, so we’re starting on the one that’ll come after it already while the rest of the guys mop up with song licensing for 6.”

Activision, I’m picking up a stick for my drum set here, and I’m pointing it at you. It is officially a shaming stick now, and if you dare come out with a title that pretty much could have been songs released in DLC, well, I don’t even know what I’d do. Mainly because the drum stick I have is for my Rock Band drum set….from Rock Band 2, which came out in 2008, since Harmonix doesn’t release a thousand $60 games. They work on adding game-enhancing features to each version, so it takes a while to make them. You see what I’m getting at here?

What do you think about the surprising revelation that Guitar Hero 7 and Band Hero 3 are already in a developmental stage?
