Thankfully, the combination of colorful visuals, great characters, and the cinematic storyline resulted in good reviews from fans and critics alike. As a result, the game’s early success will likely secure a sequel in the future, and more Marvel games from Square Enix will follow suit.

The Stagger Mechanic
An exciting feature of the combat system in Guardians of the Galaxy is the Stagger mechanic. Some of the game’s larger and more challenging enemies will have a “Stagger Bar” next to their health meter. Without staggering these enemies, some enemies will take little to no damage at all, but once that bar has been filled, it’s time for the Guardians to unleash their special moves on the enemy. When an enemy is staggered, their Stagger Bar will flicker in combat.
Staggering Enemies
To stagger an enemy, the player needs to unlock and use these abilities for combat. It’s one of the earliest Guardians of the Galaxy features that players will get to grips with. Additionally, if a Guardian uses an element that an enemy is weak to, this can also trigger the stagger feature. These stagger abilities also have a rating that the player should pay attention to to ensure that the best available skills are being used in the right situation.
Stagger Abilities
Each Guardian has its own Stagger abilities that will need to be unlocked with the earned Abilities Points accumulated throughout the game’s story. These abilities are as follows:
When it comes to inflicting stagger damage on enemies, Drax is the go-to fighter on the battlefield. He has three abilities that will stagger enemies, and his starting ability will inflict a lot of damage to one target at a time.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is available now for the PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
